It'll be just like when the Avatars started being baked. Then mesh bodies saved us for a while ![]()

BoM is a double edge sword for us. On the one hand, it eliminates any need for appliars and makes skinning and textures super easy.
On the other hand, everyone you rip that is using BoM will have grey baked textures for skin, also the default BoM textures replacing skin in rips. One trick I do when I rip a BoM body is to go back and use notepad++ to search and replace the default BoM textures with my own skin texture UUID's. Then import into OS and everything's good. This won't work for SL. It's just a pain in the rear for everyone if you ask me. The thought of using all of your old outfits again is appealing and works, but have you seen how it looks? My old clothes look hideous on these new mesh bodies lol. |
