hello, I'm swamp, happy to be here!

I recently switched OS's so I wanted to get my Darkstorm install back (I've been amateur copybotting for a couple years now) when I stumbled upon this forum.

my only other experience with copybot forums was the aforementioned "goonsquad" which I wasn't aware had such a convoluted ranking system lol, since I mainly used it to look for resources on how to fix some hiccups in my copybotting. I'll probably still be figuring some quirks out, but I hope what I share can be valuable nonetheless

I'm interested in copybotting mainly for preservation and archiving, or I just want to change an item to be modify since I love customizing my avatars to the max (and isn't that the point of Second Life?!). The stuff I share will probably veer towards said goal of preserving things, either because the creator isn't active or the item's permissions need to be changed, or even to fix some quirks with whatever item I'm copybotting.

I'm excited to be here with an active community, I myself will try to be as active as possible.

Mighty glad to see you here, amigo. Sounds like you’ve already had your hands in some of this copybot stuff and I gotta tip my hat to you. Wanting to archive and preserve what’s getting harder to find? That’s a good thing in my book. Like keeping old family recipes alive you never know when they’ll vanish.

Now about those hiccups you’re not alone, trust me. We’ve got some solid tools that might ease the ride a bit, like MeshesSL. I’m in the same saddle as you it’s a real pain when you buy something and it’s no modify. Maybe you just wanna clear the alpha channel or tone down that extra shine, but you can’t. Well, now you can with the right tools in your pack.

It’s great to see your excitement for the community. We’ll do our best to keep this place active, helpful, and just plain good company while you go about saving what matters.
