I was a frequent visitor in SL, and I even had a semi-professional magazine that we published weekly in the mid to late 2000s. I had lost a lot of passion for the environment, but it was primarily because my life was on the upswing and I didn't have the time I used to. That being said, I returned recently to Second Life, and more importantly, I have fully embraced opensim and the creation of my own world. I remember paying $5,000 for five regions and $1,500 per month. I didn't even break even most of the time, but I rationalized it by stating it was a very expensive pastime. Then Dwight Schrute showed off his SL credentials, and Jim, with that little sneer he has, simply clowned on him. I felt sorry for Dwight, but now I can really claim that I am far more cultured and wealthy than that beet farmer will ever be. I'm hoping to get a lot of knowledge from the community.
